Picture this. You’re grooming a dog and you spend an hour bathing, blow drying and clipping the fur so it’s absolutely perfect. Then, you call the dog’s owner to say, “Fluffy’s all set for pick up!” The owner says, “Great! I’ll be there in about an hour.”
So now Fluffy is sitting in a temporary cage, looking beautiful, smelling like a rose and ready to go.
But here’s the problem. Fluffy has to pee. Now. So she does, in the cage.
Yikes! Now you have pee in the cage, ruining all your gorgeous grooming work. Or do you…?
At Direct Animal, we solved the pet pee dilemma with our unique galvanized/stainless steel dog cage that includes a unique subfloor and collection pan.
Pet professionals such as dog groomers, daycares and shelters appreciate that we’re the only dog cage manufacturers who offer the popular subfloor and collection pan — eliminating the pee problem.
- First, our unique HDPE raised subfloor allows fluids to drain away from pet, which means urine simply falls through the floor into a collection pan.
- The elevated floor also ensures that animals avoid stepping in urine or water (if the water bowl tipped over) — keeping furry feet nice and dry.
- The collection pan is super easy to remove and makes cleaning a snap. Plus you don’t even need to open the cage door and disturb the pet.
To create this solution to the age-old pee-pee problem, our designers engineered our galvanized/stainless steel cage with a seamless hem on three sides. This is what holds the subfloor up.
And then, the collection pan slides underneath the subfloor. The pan is larger in width and depth than the lip the subfloor is sitting on, so any fluid that hits the flow or the seamless hem is forced to flow into the collection pan. There’s no way for urine to get trapped behind the subfloor and collection pan — no gap for wet urine to hide!
In contrast, other dog cage manufacturers insert a grate and recommend placing a towel or newspaper underneath. There’s nothing in their designs that keep the towel or newspaper from getting soaked with urine (and smelling bad!). Yuck.
Our galvanized/stainless steel dog cage is popular for use in pet shops, boarding facilities, grooming shops, some veterinary hospitals and shelters because of these unique features at a very affordable price. In fact, a lot of shelters use these cages for their cats because they’re the perfect size.
Speaking of price, our cages cost about the same as others, but with us you’re getting the subfloor and collection pan you won’t find in other cages. And, unlike other cages, ours combine galvanized steel with 18-gauge heavy-duty stainless steel. Our doors, latches, hinges and mobile base are all in stainless steel.
Our galvanized/stainless steel cages come in a variety of configurations — so contact us for help in choosing the right one for you.
